Last updated 27 September 2026. Plain-language version, written for the pilot.
Stash is a small, invite-only pilot run by one person, not a company. This page says exactly what happens to your data. If anything here isn't true, that's a bug. Tell the person who invited you.
What Stash stores
- The name you joined with, and a hashed copy of your access token (never the token itself).
- The links you save, any note you type with them, and when you saved them.
- The note Stash writes for each save: title, summary, next step, transcript, ingredients, and anything named in it (books, films, places).
- A small cover image for each save.
- What you do in the app: saving, searching, opening notes, ticking list items, and when Claude looks something up for you. This is how the owner can see whether the pilot is working.
- Your own Groq key, if you add one. It's encrypted before it's stored.
How a save gets read
- Stash downloads the public post you shared from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X or Threads.
- The audio is sent to Groq to be transcribed, and a few frames, the caption and top comments are sent to Groq's AI to write your note. Groq is a separate company with its own privacy policy.
- This happens on the owner's computer or on a GitHub-hosted build machine. Your downloaded video is deleted from that machine once your note is done. Only the note and the small cover image are kept.
Where it's kept, and who can see it
- Everything is stored on Cloudflare.
- In the app, only you can see your saves.
- The person who runs Stash can read the database, including your saves. Don't save anything you'd hate for them to see.
- If you connect Claude, Claude can read your saves when you ask it to. That's covered by Anthropic's own privacy policy.
- No ads. Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared with anyone else.
Your controls
- Export: Set up → Your account → Export my notes. You get everything as one file.
- Delete: Set up → Your account → Delete my account. This permanently erases your saves, notes, cover images, list ticks and activity history. It can't be undone.
- Lost or leaked token: Set up → Your account → Reset my token. The old one stops working straight away.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, you'll be told in the app before it applies to you.
